Our story begins with love at first sight for Monemvasia. Then, the idea to make it our home, to discover bit by bit the wealth of Byzantine heritage that this corner of the Peloponnesus contains; less well known than that of ancient Greece.

Our wish is to share this extraordinary setting with our guests and to have them discover another face of Greece than the cliché «Sea, Sex and Sun», by adding a cultural touch.

What would you say to a «Byzantine Escapade» ?

Ioannis Ritsos, our Greek poet, stated about his birth place: "Vertical rock - all day drinking the broiling sun, holding it in its guts opposite  the open sea, and you with your back against the rock, chest open to the sea - half fire, half dew..."
